In an effort to enlighten people on the future of
technology, Nokia is introducing a
new web series on emerging systems. This raises questions about upcoming
developments. Moreover, in the long run, it will help the company gain a
heightened position as a thought leader on issues ranging from 5G to virtual
reality.
This program starts this week and it is hosted by the
Canadian business journalist Michael Hainsworth. It is titled “Futurithmic”. This branded series asks questions
about societal changes brought on by new systems. Each episode features a
leading thinker in a specific sector. For instance, the author Cory Doctorow
will discuss the future of privacy and Rory Sutherland, the British advertising
executive and behavioural scientist will extrapolate on the impact of artificial
intelligence on consumer buying behaviours and the MIT social physicist
Sandy Pentland will speak on how digital connections affect social mobility.
In the first episode, the host converses with Galit Ariel, a
creative director at the Toronto-based studio WondARlands. They discuss how augmented
reality will change the way humans interact with the physical world
and what ethics should be introduced to protect ourselves. Ariel advanced that
companies need to remember that technology is not detached from the rest of the
world.
