It was recently revealed that an area next to Edinburgh
Airport will be converted into a digital
quarter. A company has been set up to work on the development of a 150-acre
site in and around the airport's disused second runway. This project aims to
attract global tech firms and to
develop home-grown digital businesses. It is made up of plans for offices,
housing and leisure facilities. The company responsible behind the
conversion, Crosswind
Developments, asserts that this could lead to 4,000 direct and
indirect jobs being created.
