Online shopping: the death of traditional retail in the US

The way Americans have shopped has changed during the past decade. The rise of online shopping and delivery services has given consumers the opportunity to choose from various brands and to complete their purchases while staying at home. This has led to decline of chain retailers, such as Sears, JC Penney, Payless, David’s Bridal and others, that were once very successful. As such, some companies have tried to implement new facilities and to revamp their stores to cater to customers’ needs.
