Split My Bill: a new payment option for bleisure travellers


A recent survey Avis Car Rental has revealed that 87% of travellers mix business and leisure in the same trip. This phenomenon is called “bleisure”. To make it easier for these tourists to conduct transactions, a new option named “Split My Bill” has been designed.

This feature is available in Avis’s mobile app. It allows users to divide payments between corporate and personal credit cards or other forms of settlements. Customers can split their expenses by total bill amount, rental days and other additions such as SiriusXM Radio. They can also record the cost of a vehicle upgrade on a second form of payment during a single rental period. The vice president of ancillary revenue at Avis Budget Group advanced that “With the introduction of ‘Split My Bill’, our business travellers can go beyond the corporate experience or trip to experience upgrades and additional services that travellers enjoy and want”. He further asserted that since many travellers use business trips as an opportunity to explore new cities and meet family and friends, this option makes the reconciliation of bleisure travel expenses cleaner and easier. This feature is available to all members of Avis preferred, the firm’s free loyalty program. Payment forms can be adjusted in their mobile app or on the brand’s site.
