Considering developments in the technological sector, digital literacy goes well beyond basic
comprehension of computers in our current era. Workers need to have a wide
range of skills which are increasingly necessary to succeed in the workplace.
It is expected that within the next five years, 90 percent of the workforce
will require at least basic computer skills such as email or company software. In the next 2-3 years,
more than 50 percent will need to be able to use, configure and build
computerised systems. Those who lack digital
literacy may find themselves at a huge disadvantage.
Digital
literacy will be very important in the workforce
