Amazon has recently introduced its online shopping system to launch a grocery delivery service. This
has now expanded to three more cities. As such, it is available in 18 locations
across the US. The recent development involves Houston, Minneapolis and Phoenix.
The e-commerce giant has issued a press release sharing this
announcement. It also confirmed that customers will be able to buy products
through any device supporting Alexa.
The voice assistant is equipped with the capabilities to add items to shopping
carts based on previous purchases or popular products. As you shop using AmazonFresh,
Alexa will learn about your preferences and remember your favourites. This will
accelerate and simplify the process of buying items on the Web. It is expected
that grocery shopping via the voice assistant will become a long-term habit
among customers. This is because it will become even more convenient for users
once repeat orders and preferred products are automatically recognised.
To be able to use AmazonFresh,
consumers have to be prime members of Amazon. Moreover, if they settle an additional
fee, they will have the opportunity to receive their products in one hour.
Another service, “Prime Now” allows customers to benefit from a free 2-hour
delivery option. This solution is operational in more than 50 cities across the
world.
