Artificial intelligence might replace driving instructors

Microsoft is developing a new artificial intelligence project to help those learning how to drive. As such, human driving instructors might soon be replaced. The system has been termed as the HAMS project (Harnessing AutoMobiles for Safety). It involves a smartphone that is mounted to the windshield with the front camera on the driver and the rear camera focused on the road ahead. This will help keep track of the learner’s performance. Microsoft’s AI-based system is equipped with multiple sensors to detect obstacles and other things such as sharp braking, vehicle-to-vehicle distance, and driver distraction.
