Microsoft reveals its dual screen devices

During its annual hardware event held in the 2nd of October, Microsoft has revealed a wide range of new products. Two of these are a dual screen smartphone and tablet.

The former is called the DUO smartphone and the latter is the Surface Neo. Both of these function via Google’s Android operating system and not Windows. The smartphone, which will be available in the 2020 holiday season is able to run different apps on both screens at the same time. The hinge is 360 degrees and it folds up when not in use.

As for the Surface Neo, its displays work independently. As such, each screen can run its own application. It is also equipped with a pop-out keyboard and trackpad. These stick to the back of the tablet when they are not being used. The device itself is 5.6mm thin and reinforced with gorilla glass. However, it does have a break in the middle of the screen.

Apart from these devices, Microsoft has also introduced Surface earbuds and new laptops. The former are going to rival with Apple’s AirPods. They have a 24-hour battery life and they are said to “work on any platform”. Moreover, they are equipped with gesture control capabilities so that users can pause, skip or adjust volume easily.
