For quite a long time, it was believed that voice commerce will be the next big
thing in the online shopping sector. Indeed, the market is saturated with digital
assistants. However, these devices did not have much impact on the
e-commerce industry. Why is that so? According to a PwC survey, 38% of respondents advanced that they would not
purchase one because they are concerned that it would eavesdrop on them. An
additional 28% said that smart
assistants lack sufficient data privacy protection. As such, firms
should work on addressing these concerns.
