Bitcoin: a payment terminal launched at CES

It seems that 2020 is the year that Bitcoin might finally be adopted in everyday life. The Blockchain Security company SecuX has designed a crypto retail payment system for brick and mortar shops. This includes a mobile app, a payment module and a hardware wallet.

This new system was introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show. How does it work? The retailer does not require internet connection. However, the buyer would. After selecting the item, the client has to scan a QR code connected to a system run by SecuX. Then, his phone will connect to a server that will process the transaction. The system will send the buyer a signal alerting him that the settlement is complete. After that, the buyer’s application will transmit a bluetooth signal to the retailer notifying him that the payment has been made.

The three components involved are a white-label mobile app that supports most virtual currencies, a payment terminal that can connect to any existing point of sale system and a hardware wallet that combines its Secure Element chip that can only accept crypto payments from the hardware terminal to the shop owner.

SecureX is not the first company to design such a system. Stéphane Djiane, the CEO of Global P.O.S., a point-of-sale systems provider for retailers has also been marketing a solution of her own for quite some time.
