Retail sector: more predictions for 2020

As advanced in a previous article, 2020 will bring about several changes for the retail sector. Exact predictions are difficult to make. However, experts have made some forecasts. Have a look at two more of them below.

Bed Bath & Beyond
This retail store company is predicted to undergo several transformations in the coming few years. The latter has been experiencing flat sales for the past few years. Moreover, it had an underwhelming online business and too many outlets under different names. However, things started changing when it recently got a new CEO. Among other ideas, he set up an in-house product development and sourcing arm. Nonetheless, the changes he had in mind are taking a long time to set up and implement. This means that these will be taking place in 2020 and 2021. Bed Bath & Beyond is going to be the most transformed retailer of the year.

Sears/Kmart
For many years, it was predicted that these stores are going to close down. It is forecasted that this will finally happen in 2020. There are rumours going on that at the end, they will have less than 100 stores open for business. While there might still be variations of Sears and Kmart shops and websites, by the end of the year, they will no longer be open.
