While it is best known for its delivery services, Domino’s is focusing on other aspects
of ordering. Recently, the firm is working on its pickup experience. To make
things easier for customers, it has introduced Pie Pass.
This new feature gives clients the opportunity to skip the line
when they order online. They can use the company’s mobile app to do so. Thanks
to Pie Pass, they will be able to
check in via the Domino’s Tracker when they reach the store. Employees will
receive alerts notifying them to prepare the order and a digital board
in the outlet is going to display the customer’s name when his/her pizza is
ready. At that point, the client will not have to get in line. The order will
immediately be handed to him/her.
When dealing with off premises, online/mobile, ordering, a
lot of companies are focusing on enhancing their delivery services. However,
the majority of those sales involves pickup. Most consumers prefer going to the
store to get their food. As such, Domino’s and other restaurants are
introducing new technologies that would make the process faster and easier. For
instance, Little Caesars has a system that is similar to Pie
Pass. Called Pizza Portal, it is a heated, self-service pickup station
where customers grab orders placed online or via mobile.
