Asda and Aldi have introduced ‘no touch’ rules for shoppers

Supermarkets have been implementing several regulations to ensure the safety of both customers and employees. For instance, Asda and Aldi have introduced ‘no touch’ rules, that is, clients are not allowed to touch a product unless they will buy it.

Asda has advanced that it has implemented these security measures in the hope that these are going to prevent the spread of the virus. According to a message on its website, it is following advice and regulations from the Government. It says, “We’re asking customers to only touch items they intend to purchase and to use cashless payment wherever they can to minimise contact”. Apart from these, there will be clear signage, directional barriers and floor markings so that customers can move around safely.

The supermarket Aldi has introduced this ‘no touch’ rule as well, that is, contact is limited to the items that will be purchased or will be used in store. Moreover, clients may be requested to only touch trolleys that they intend to utilise. A spokesperson also advanced that sanitisation stations are placed at the front of outlets so that clients are able to disinfect their hands, trolleys and baskets before shopping.

These measures are only some regulations that have been implemented in supermarkets across the UK to ensure safety.
