Since supermarkets can be quite crowded and physical
distancing regulations should be respected, Morrisons has decided to extend its shopping hours to make things
easier for its customers.
As from the 14th of April, the company has
started opening its outlets earlier than usual. This news was announced on its
Facebook page. This will allow those visiting a supermarket to avoid crowds
while they are browsing for essentials. In the UK, the stores will be operating
as from 7am until 8pm on Mondays to Saturdays. On Sundays, shops in England and
Wales will open at 9.30am and close at 4pm and in Scotland, shopping hours will be from 8am to 8pm.
Thus, clients will have an extra hour to purchase their
products and they can shop during quieter times of the day. The supermarket
company advanced that this decision has been taken since there is a
decrease in the number of customers panic buying and while thanking its
clients, it advised them to continue to “shop considerately”.
Moreover, the firm confirmed that its NHS
hour is still in place but it will be earlier. It will be from 6am to 7am on Mondays
to Saturdays and 9am to 9.30am on Sundays.
