After shutting down its operations in late March because of
the coronarivus pandemic, Next has
decided to open its online store again. The company announced that clients will
be able to purchase from its website.
While this is good news for e-shoppers, the fashion giant is
not working as it usually does. Indeed, it is operating on a limited capacity.
This means that it is accepting only a specific number of online orders per day. After that limit is reached, clients have to
wait to complete their purchases. A statement on the Next website reveals that
the company has “successfully tested opening and taking a limited number of
orders”.
Moreover, it advanced that bosses have spent two weeks
reworking warehouse operations and they have implemented “practical measures”
to ensure the safety of their staff. In a video posted on its website, the firm
explained some of the security features taken to protect workers. For
instance, there are two-metre floor markings to help staff maintain physical
distancing, a one-way movement system and sanitising stations. Workers will
also be given “keep clean kits” and tabards with the message “stay 2 metres
apart” on the back. Next
advances that it has ensured that staff who want to work “feel safe, work safe
and are safe”.
