With lockdown regulations in place, a lot of retailers have
turned towards e-commerce to remain in business. However, there are small firms
who do not have the resources needed to enjoy these facilities. To help
bakeries in the UK, Bako, a leading
supplier of bakery products and ingredients, has launched a website.
The site will allow customers to order and pay for treats
from their local bakery easily. Collection and delivery solutions are also provided.
Called, ‘Bakers.Market’, it is
expected to be made available to the public in June. This website is the first
online marketplace in the UK that offers such a service. All independent bakeries
in the area can register to this site, even if they already have an e-store.
Moreover, they do not have to be Bako customers.
The website was designed and built by Vida Technologies
and it is going to be promoted to online shoppers by Bako. The latter is also
offering help to bakeries establish their business and local marketing to
support the central campaign.
Mike Tully, the CEO of Bako North Western Group said, “We
launched Bakers.Market
to provide a modern and sophisticated buying experience for bakery customers
across the UK, connecting them with their local bakers so that they can access
the bakery products they love through a slick, online experience”.
