O2: what are some security protocols it has adopted?

Like various stores, O2 has implemented security measures in its shops to ensure that both employees and customers are safe. In fact, it has leveraged the latest tech to offer clients an enjoyable experience.

For instance, at The Strand outlet only three customers are allowed inside the shop at one time. However, clients do not have to wait in lines outside. Instead the mobile phone retailer has a ‘virtual’ queuing system. As such, visitors will be able to browse elsewhere and they will be informed via text message when it is their turn to get in.

Staff members are equipped with PPE masks and visors and clients have to sanitise their hands before entering. Handsets models are on display and you are allowed to touch the products. However, the firm ensures that devices are wiped down after each use.

When consulting with a salesperson, clients are requested to sit on chair which is marked out by yellow and black tape exactly two metres away from the employee. The latter’s desk is protected by a perspex screen.

Gareth Turpin, the sales director at 02, advances, “We’ve got 290 processes we use in our stores ranging from our customer comes into the store through the front door, right to how a delivery comes into the store through the back door and everything in between”.
