Following government regulations, several John Lewis stores have opened their
doors. Consumers can now visit shops as long as they follow precautionary
measures. However, the company is encouraging clients to buy on the Web
instead.
To motivate shoppers to stay at home and avoid waiting for a
long time queueing outside its outlets, the firm has launched a massive online clearance sale. When purchasing
from its e-commerce website, customers can enjoy 70% off on items from all
major departments. Some of these are men and women's fashion, electronics,
furniture and parenting.
While a lot of products have already been sold out, there
are still several offers on fashion items, white good such as washing machines,
and TVs. This promotion is going to last until the 26th of July or
till stocks last.
Concerning its physical retail outlets, John Lewis is
operating on a trial basis. It has opened only 13 stores at the moment. To
avoid the spread of the virus, fitting rooms in these shops will be closed.
However, to make up for this, buyers will have up to 35 days to return items.
Nonetheless, toilet and baby-changing facilities will be available. John Lewis
advanced that their priority is to keep its employees and clients safe.
