Following the government’s announcement, Marks & Spencer has revealed that
it is going to open the majority of its clothing stores on the 15th
of June. However, it has implemented new rules that all shoppers must respect.
The retailer advanced that these measures are based on the
lessons it learned while running its food outlets during the lockdown period.
These will be applied so that the clothing stores are able to operate safely.
Its aim is to make people feel confident while shopping. Below are some of the
new measures:
ü
An employee will manage the flow of customers in
and out of all M&S stores to ensure social
distancing. Thus, clients can expect a short queue,
ü
Metal baskets will be made available to make
cleaning easier. Hand sanitiser will also be offered,
ü
Floor markings will be placed in the shops to
remind consumers to give each other space,
ü
Close contact services, such as bra fittings,
suit fittings and kidswear footwear fittings, will not be provided. To help
customers, the retailer has enhanced its bra fit tool on its website and
colleagues will be available to give advice, and
ü
All M&S
tills will be equipped with perspex screens. Contactless payments, with
a new limit of £45, will be encouraged.
M&S will open on June 15
