Some non-essential retail
stores have opened their doors on the 15th of June in the UK.
Various firms on the high street, such as John Lewis & Partners,
Selfridges, H&M and Mint Velvet, have started welcoming clients. However,
there are some changes.
While the re-opening signals some sort of normality, the
situation is definitely not the same as a Pre-Covid-19 era. For instance, just
browsing around and entering a store will not be possible. It is more likely
that you will have to wait in long lines. All outlets have implemented security
protocols. You must wear face masks, use hand sanitiser, follow a one-way
system and respect 2m floor markings. Moreover, contactless payments are being encouraged and you have to get used
to perspex screens at checkout.
Additionally, the government has issued more guidelines for
non-essential stores. For example, returned items will have to be quarantined
and changing rooms will not be operational. Brands are also being encouraged to
offer customers more online and virtual
shopping services and clients visiting outlets are requested to shop
alone or with members of their family only.
A series of articles will be posted on this blog to keep you
updated about the changes occurring and on the precautions you need to take
when going to different outlets so that your shopping experience is
enjoyable.
