As advanced in a previous article, this post will look at
the necessary precautions that you must take to make sure that your shopping trip is as enjoyable as
possible.
Wendy Spinks, the commercial director at St Pancras
International, home to over 20 retailers, including luxury and high street brands, said, “For the time
being at least, a bit of forward planning will be necessary before going out to
the shops”. She stressed on the importance of being organised and thoughtful to
make your shopping trip easier.
Part of your planning must include checking the opening
times of the outlets that you wish to visit. This is because a lot of stores will
operate on reduced hours. Moreover, the government has advised retailers and
neighbouring businesses to work together to stagger opening hours in an effort
to avoid overcrowding and decrease demand on public transport during peak time.
That is why some firms, like the women's fashion brand Mint Velvet, are
requesting their clients to call ahead of their visit since their opening hours
are subject to change.
Additionally, some stores have special shopping hours
dedicated to the elderly, vulnerable and NHS staff. John Lewis & Partners
is “fast-tracking” these clients through the queue and Selfridges
is offering key workers priority entry to shops.
