In light of changes related to customers’ purchasing habits,
Tesco has announced a few
transformation to its online shopping website. Now, clients can buy more items
than they previously could.
At the start of the pandemic, consumers were stripping
supermarket shelves of essential merchandise. This was unfair since a lot of
people could not have access to products that they need to survive. In an
attempt to stop panic buying, the firm restricted the number of items that
customers could purchase to 80. There were also limitations on products such as
bread, pasta and toilet paper.
The supermarket has now increased its online shopping basket limit to 85 items to ease the purchasing
process. Additionally, to further help clients out, it has started to remove
restrictions on most of its merchandise, except for toilet roll, alcohol,
pasta, and hand sanitisers.
Apart from Tesco, other major chains across the country are
implementing new measures. They are changing the way they operate to help
consumers and mainly to keep their employees and clients safe. For instance,
some are introducing protective screens and markings on the floor to maintain social
distancing. Staff are being given protective gear and customers are
being encouraged to use contactless payment methods.
