Streaming is a huge part of our life, whether it is to watch
movies, listen to music or checking out our favourite gamers. Now, it is being
used in the commerce industry as well. Live
shopping has become a thing and it might soon turn into a trend.
This idea is being advocated by PopShop Live. This is an e-commerce platform that allows sellers to
market their products and connect to customers via streaming videos. The
company has just announced that it has raised nearly $3 million through a
funding round led by Floodgate and Abstract Ventures. Other firms such as Long
Journey Ventures, Cyan and Scott Banister, Shrug Capital, Backend Capital and
Halogen Ventures have also participated. Now, the firm has a total capital of $4.5
million.
This e-commerce marketplace is founded by Danielle Li.
It is a reimagining of the Home Shopping Network, or QVC. Individual sellers
and brands just have to get to the platform to create and host their own shows.
Moreover, PopShop
Live can integrate with Shopify to help sellers manage their
inventory and POS during the live stream without any additional hassle.
