The Foodhall stores of Marks
and Spencer remained open throughout the lockdown and over the last few
weeks, its other outlets have started welcoming clients again. However, like
many firms, the retailer has changed the way it operates. For instance, it has
updated opening hours, introduced social distancing protocols and launched
delivery boxes. Check out the latest shopping rules that must be followed by
customers.
Returns policy
Fitting rooms in all clothing stores are not operational. This means that you cannot try an item before purchasing it. As such, Marks and Spencer has extended its refund policy to 90 days. This will make it easier for clients to return clothes that do not fit.

Opening times
To cater to the needs of the elderly and NHS staff, Foodhall branches have updated its opening hours. Vulnerable customers can purchase products early on Mondays and Thursdays whereas emergency workers are able to benefit from private shopping on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Social distancing
A statement from the firm requested customers to ‘be kind and give everyone space’ while respecting the social distancing procedures put in place. It is going to limit the number of people in stores and has introduced floor markings to ensure that a two-metre space is maintained between clients and workers. Moreover, perspex screens have been implemented at checkout.
