Asda updates its delivery service to make shopping easier

Considering that UK residents have turned towards e-commerce to complete their purchases, Asda has been experiencing a surge in delivery orders for the past few months. Along with buying groceries many customers have been browsing the George at Asda clothing collections on its site. Thus, the firm was forced to increase its number of shipping slots by 65% in March. Currently, 700,000 orders can be processed per week. This figure is expected to rise to 740 000 by the end of the year.

Now, to make things easier for those purchasing clothes online, the supermarket giant is testing a new feature. Thank to this, you will no longer have to wait and wonder where your parcel is or when will it come. The firm is trialling a tracking software. This has been developed by the technology company Sorted. Through this program, customers will be able to see the exact location of their orders. They will also receive live updates with regards to the expected arrival date. Speaking about this, the senior manager for parcel service and format development at Asda, Neil Drake, said, “We’re delighted to be the first supermarket fashion brand to implement this software, which will make it even easier for our customers to shop with us”.
