As a way to cope with the increase in online demands, Sainsbury’s has announced that it is
going to extend delivery hours for e-shoppers. The firm is also planning to
ship 700,000 grocery orders per week by the end of October.
This project will cover click and collect and home delivery options. This implies that
it is going to double its online capacity in comparison to the beginning of
March. As the supermarket company
advances, this will ensure that “more customers than ever can shop this way”.
As such, to make sure that everyone purchasing from the Web
is able to receive their products in a timely manner, Sainsbury’s has
introduced almost 200 new click and collect points. Moreover, the
following months will see nearly 1,000 more Groceries Online vans on the road.
1000 vehicles will be shipping orders for Argos, which is also owned by
Sainsbury’s.
With regards to the extension of delivery times, employees
will be processing your orders half an hour earlier than usual, that is as from
6.30am. Additionally, drivers will be on the roads with your products until
11.30pm, 30 minutes later the previous service offered. These extended hours
will be available from most Sainsbury’s outlets and it will
soon be implemented.
