The supermarket company Aldi
has announced a lot of changes to its stores. It has updated its shopping rules
and has expanded click and collect services.
The new regulations are meant to keep shoppers safe when
they are purchasing groceries. In a letter to customers, the firm’s CEO Giles
Hurley advanced, “As new government advice is introduced across different parts
of the UK, I want to reassure you about the measures in place to ensure that
you can continue to shop safely at your local Aldi”. For instance, there is a
traffic-light system to control the number of customers getting in. Moreover,
there are protective screens at checkouts and sanitisation stations for
clients. To make sure that social distancing is maintained, there are markings
on the floor and contactless payments
are encouraged.
Additionally, the budget retailer has extended its click
and collect services for those who do not want to visit its stores. This
solution is now available in 12 locations and it will be added to more outlets
every week. As such, clients will have the opportunity to purchase a huge range
of fresh, frozen and chilled foods and pick them up at a mentioned location in
an Aldi
car park at a specific time. Home delivery services are also available via the
Deliveroo app.
