To help small retailers facing challenges because of the
coronavirus crisis, eBay is
launching a new scheme. It is introducing a ‘Pay As You Grow’ project. This
will allow sellers to register on the UK marketplace without paying any fees
for their first 100 sales every month.
As experts predict, a lot of people will lose their jobs in
the coming months. In fact, several employees have already been made redundant.
As such, the e-commerce site is
offering a lifeline to those wishing to build their own business. It is
lowering the barrier to entry in the online world by giving merchants the ability
to expand before having to deal with costs. This is not the first time that
eBay has been trying to create new economic opportunities in the country. Ever
since the start of the pandemic, it has been introducing a wide range of seller
support policies.
Already implemented, this project will run until the end of
the year. It is inspired by the new UK Government policy of Pay As You Grow
loan repayments for small businesses. Thus, sellers registering on eBay
do not have to pay listing fees. Additionally, Final Value Fees as a
percentage of the sale price will be waived.
