Winter economy plan announced by the Chancellor

With the cold months coming up, it is important to make more efforts to support those going through difficult times. A winter economy plan has just been announced by the Chancellor to that effect.

Rishi Sunak revealed that the government has plans to offer additional support and reassurance to workers and businesses affected by the coronavirus. In his speech in the Parliament, he said that several measures will be introduced to make these uncertain months ahead easier, especially since we are already dealing with the coronavirus. Some examples of the packages that will be implemented are a new Jobs Support Scheme to protect those going to work, an extension of the Self Employment Income Support Scheme, 15% VAT cut for the hospitality and tourism sectors and more time for businesses to repay government loans.

Ever since the outbreak of the pandemic, the government has been implementing various financial projects to help those in need. According to some experts, the UK has one of the most generous and comprehensive economic plans in the world. Over £190 billion is being disbursed to support people, businesses and public services and it has been made clear that there will be consistent efforts.
