Amazon has introduced an ‘eco-friendly’ shopping website

To encourage customers in the UK and other European countries to be more eco-friendly, Amazon has introduced a new shopping platform that will offer them household products with sustainable credentials.

The website contains more than 40,000 items belonging to several categories. For instance, they range from solid shampoo bars to organic children’s clothing. All the goods have certificates from schemes such as Fairtrade International and the Carbon Trust. As such, you will be able to access their environmental merits easily. They can be found on a dedicated section of the website and they come up in shopping results as well. There is additional sustainability information on the product page as well. Moreover, goods made and sold by small brands in the UK can be bought. Some examples are ‘Faith in Nature’ and ‘Kite Clothing’.

Throughout the past few years, the e-commerce giant has been heavily criticised because it had been using cardboard and other packing materials excessively. Additionally, in 2019, things got more serious because it introduced new-style packaging that could not be recycled. Thus, it has launched this new project to decrease the impact of its operations on the environment.
