Sainsbury’s has new security rules for the lockdown

Since the government has announced a second lockdown, Sainsbury’s has strengthened the security in its stores to ensure that customers can shop safely.

First of all, even before you get in the outlet, you will come across one of the new ‘features’ implemented. The supermarket company has ‘greeters’ to oversee the consumers coming in to shop. They are going to make sure that you are wearing appropriate face coverings. If that is not the case, the employee will help you find one, as mentioned on the company website. Masks will be worn by all staff members as well, except those who are exempt.

Moreover, to make life easier to vulnerable customers, Sainsbury’s is offering them priority access and home delivery services. Its capacity to handle orders has considerably increased since the beginning of the pandemic. Currently, it has approximately 700,000 weekly slots for home delivery and Click and Collect. If you wish to register for these services, you can do so online. Those who are not too comfortable with digital facilities can use the firm’s telephone ordering solution. There is also the option of getting a Volunteer Shopping Card if you want to buy products on behalf of the elderly, disabled and vulnerable.

Additionally, Sainsbury’s has introduced new customer hand-sanitising stations and those filling their cars with its petrol can benefit from perspex safety screens in store.
