Ikea announces new rules for its re-opening

As from the 2nd of December, Ikea will re-open 19 stores across the UK. These also include Tottenham Court Road’s Planning Studio which will cater to appointments and walk-ins. It should be noted that its click and collect facilities will remain operational.

To make sure that everyone is able to shop safely, to comply with government regulations and to protect its employees, the furniture giant has introduced several additional security protocols. For instance, there will be a staggered entry system and a limited number of shoppers will be allowed to enter an outlet at one time. This will prevent the store from being too crowded and will facilitate social distancing. Moreover, customers are being urged to prepare lists of the items that they need before coming in and to bring their own bags with them. Those intending to visit an outlet just to return something are requested to wait for a little while before doing so. This should not be a problem since the firm has a 365 day returns policy. Moreover, there will be additional hand sanitiser facilities and more frequent deep cleaning routines.

Customers will be pleased to know that they can pick up their Christmas trees outside of participating Ikea stores in the UK. A real fir tree is available for £29, with a £20 voucher to redeem across a range of homewares being offered.
