In the context of the pandemic, many businesses are transforming
the way they operate to accommodate remote-working. As such, Workplace, a tool
by Facebook has seen millions of
registrations by paid users who are using the social media site to remain
connected to their colleagues.
The giant has announced that it is going to enhance the
platform. There will be two major changes. The first one is ‘Safety Center’, an improved version of
the ‘Safety Check’ feature. Thanks to this, organisations will be able to keep
employees’ security in track more efficiently. Moreover, the latter will have a
better communication medium in case of a crisis which has become more important
since there are staff members in different locations. This system is based on
transparency as all responses are shared on the platform.
The other addition to Workplace involves videos. It
will allow users to run live streams with multiple presenters. There is a
section called ‘Rooms’ through which you will be able to broadcast from several
devices such as your personal desktop or even your home TV set (via Portal). A
Q&A post option will help improve internal communications.
These enhancements to Workplace give those working
remotely the opportunity to better connect and collaborate, even if they are
from different locations.
