As advanced in a previous article, Google Cloud has
announced a new set of solutions that will enhance online shopping. It is
called Product Discovery Solutions for
Retail. Let us have a deeper look at it.
Carrie Tharp, vice president of retail and consumer at Google Cloud advanced that now, people
are looking for smarter and more personalised shopping experiences. As such,
there is this growing need from the part of retailers to implement agile
operating models based on cloud infrastructure and new technologies, such as artificial
intelligence and machine learning. These solutions cater to today’s
industry demands. As such, the giant has partnered with experts in these areas
to design Product Discovery Solutions for Retail. Besides these collaborations,
Google’s semantic understanding of online search and user intent was also
leveraged.
One of the features in this new set of solutions is
Recommendations AI. This allows retailers to offer highly personalized product
recommendations at scale and across several channels. It does so by analysing
the complete history of a customer’s shopping journey to design customised
suggestions. The solution is based on Google
Cloud’s latest machine learning systems. As such, merchants will be
able to quickly adapt to real-time user behaviour and changes to ensure a
seamless buying experience.
