The supermarket company Aldi
has announced that it is on an expansion plan. The firm has revealed that it is
going to open approximately 100 new outlets across the US and improve its
e-commerce and grocery pick-up services.
The giant already has 2,000 shops across 37 states. 100 of
them opened last year. Additionally, its online
shopping offerings will also be enhanced. Nonetheless, not much was
revealed on this. However, it did advance that it will introduce curbside
grocery pickup facilities to 500 more outlets by the end of the year. It is
going to keep offering delivery services via Instacart in all of its
stores as well. With these openings, it is set to become the third-largest
grocery retailer based on store count by the end of 2022.
The firm’s CEO advanced that they are dedicated to keep
growing all aspects of their business, especially considering the challenges
that the retail sector has had to face last year. He said, “Our commitment to
our shoppers, new and existing, is the same – we will do everything in our
power to offer the lowest possible prices every day – and we look forward to
supporting more communities across the country with amazing ALDI
products at a value that can't be matched”.
