Google launches Password Checkup and new features

Enhancing cybersecurity, Google has developed six new features. These will be applied to Android and Android Auto devices. Thanks to these, smartphones, even old ones, will become safer and easier.

One of the features is ‘Password Checkup’. This will let you know if your password has been exposed. It first was launched in Chrome in 2019. The system works in the following way: Google keeps track of hacks that disclose security codes, which then become unsafe as they can be accessed and used by hackers easily. As such, now, whenever you enter a password, that has been leaked into an app, using Autofill, you will receive a warning along with instructions on what to do next. This tool can be accessed on mobile phones running Android 9 and above.

Moreover, the Messages application on devices operating Android 7 and above has been updated. Now, it allows users to schedule a text. This means that you can write your message in advance and choose the time that you want it to be sent. It will be delivered automatically. To use this feature, you just have to press and hold the ‘Send’ button. A popup allowing you to select the time and date will appear. It should be noted that you need to be running Google’s Messages app for this feature to work.
