With the lockdown and precautionary measures implemented by
supermarkets, grocery shopping can
be quite a chore. Indeed, you have to wait in lengthy queues before being able
to enter an outlet. This is due to social distancing guidelines and the fact
that firms are restricting the number of customers in stores. To help clients
out, a former Tesco employee has revealed that the best time to visit
the supermarket is as soon as it opens or near closing time.
Even if most people are choosing to shop online and use
delivery services, a lot of customers are still picking up their essential
items in-store. With Tesco’s traffic
light system to monitor the number of clients inside its stores, you might
have to wait a little bit during peak times. Thus, if you want to avoid queues,
it is best to visit “as soon as it opens or near closing time is when it is the
most quiet”, as advanced by Bryan Roberts, a former Customer Service Assistant.
However, going at night might not be the best option because
by then, food may have sold out. If you need a few essential items only, a few
hours before closing is ideal. He also advised that Tesco
usually offers final reductions at about 3 or 4pm.
