Those in the UK can be a little bit happier with meals such
as “Chickenjoy” and “Jolly Spaghetti” by Jollibee.
The fried chicken chain has announced that it is going to spend £30m for the
opening of 50 sites in the country by 2025.
This expert in Filipino food has enjoyed cult status for a
long time in parts of South East Asia. In 2018, it opened a small outlet in
London and it was met with huge success. People waited in queues for 18 hours
to be able to eat there. During the lockdown, the firm decided to trial food delivery in Liverpool and Leicester
and now, it has announced that it will have branches in Leeds, Cardiff,
Reading, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle by the end of the year.
Moreover, as the vice president of Jollibee revealed, the expansion
plans will not end here. Next year, they will focus on places such as Birmingham,
Manchester, Nottingham, Bristol, Brighton, Exeter, Norwich and Southampton.
The firm has more than 1200 locations across the world and
it plans to wow British residents with distinct flavours from the Philippines.
Indeed, while Jollibee serves classic
fried chicken pieces and traditional burgers, it is very famous for items such
as spaghetti in tomato sauce and rice bowls covered in beef patties and
mushroom gravy.
