In a bid to be more environmentally-friendly, Asda has announced a new change coming
to its stores. The firm has revealed that all plastic packaging on its entire
chicken range will be banned from its UK outlets. This is part of its
commitment to “use less and recycle more”.
As such, instead of coming in trays, the products will be in new pouches. This
project was tested last year on mini-fillets and diced breasts and it was a
success. The supermarket company hopes that this will help save 450
tonnes of plastic
per year.
