Eataly launches its new concept in the UK

Have you heard of Eataly? This is a new idea that combines a store, an Italian food court and a cookery school. According to its manager, it is a food market and restaurant concept where you can eat, shop and learn about high-quality Italian food and drink all under one roof.

This project has become quite successful in several areas of the globe. For instance, there are 40 Eataly locations in 15 countries like Japan and Brazil. It was supposed to be rolled out in London earlier, but unfortunately, the pandemic resulted in delays. Finally, there was an initial opening last month near Liverpool Street Station. However, since indoor dining was not allowed, the firm started by offering takeaways and al fresco dining. After the government announced that restrictions will be relaxed, a more grandiose opening took place. It revealed two indoor restaurants called ucina del Mercato and Pasta e Pizza. Several bars also welcome visitors. According to the company, fine dining restaurant Terra and cookery school La Scuola will open soon.

Matteo Ferrio, the manager of Eataly advanced that this is an unusual way to open. He said, “Traditionally, we would launch all of our services at once, but we have adapted to the UK’s roadmap out of lockdown”.
