The past year has witnessed several changes in the shopping and payment industries and this has been proven by studies. The
New Payments Index has revealed that during this time-frame, 63% of respondents
have said that they have tried new methods to process settlements and that in
other conditions they would not have done so. These involve contactless, QR
codes and biometric checkout. The
same goes for purchasing products. Some of the new solutions being adopted are
‘click and collect’ pickup at stores or voice commerce. Have a look at some of
the trends that are becoming popular.
Digital settlements
Several consumers advance that they would not like to deal with a merchant who
does not offer a variety of settlement methods when they are shopping. To be
more precise, six and 10 respondents revealed that they avoid retailers who do
not accept digital payments of any kind. As such, it is in the best
interest of firms to upgrade their checkout system and offer clients several
ways to pay for their products so that they do not lose customers and they
increase their conversion rates.
