Online shop launched to tackle food waste

In a bid to tackle food waste, a new online shop has been launched by the founders of the dairy-free avocado ice cream brand Fravocado. Called Mighty Plants, the e-commerce store is also going to help independent firms target customers who are interested in a plant-based diet.

We are living in a world where time is of the essence. However, despite our busy lifestyle, it is important to be mindful of what we eat. That is why Mighty Plants has been introduced. It offers buyers a wide range of sustainable frozen products that can be ordered online and delivered. Clients will be able to purchase items such as ice cream, allergen-free frozen food, vegan ready-meals, and plant-based meat alternatives.

According to statistics by the UN, in the UK alone, more than 10.2 million tonnes of food are wasted every year, which is pretty sad considering that over 8 million people are struggling to buy something to eat. The frozen food supply chain is a solution to this problem. It generates less waste. As such, the founders of Mighty Plants decided to introduce an e-commerce website that would help even those who are struggling financially. To do so and to be more sustainable, they collaborated with other small independent brands.
