Apple updates its online store with a brand new design

After being down for approximately an hour, the Apple Store was relaunched with a brand new design. Besides this updated look, there is also a dedicated tab on the site’s top-level navigation.

How does the new e-commerce site look? At the top level, you are going to see images and links to many of the brand’s product lines, such as Mac, iPhone, AirPods, etc. These will redirect you to the specific store pages for the products. There, you will be able to access available items. These sections also feature resources like shopping guides, accessories and support.

This new design focusses on ‘cards’, which feels like Apple’s Store app. Indeed, it does feel like mobile-first, where you have to scroll horizontally between cards. Nonetheless, this may not translate well to desktops. On the website, there are arrows that you have to tap on.

At the time of writing, this update does not involve the release of more products. It seems to be just focussed on a new design for Apple’s online store. Moreover, the pages where you can complete a purchase are still the same. Nonetheless, there are rumours that the firm is working on the iPhone 13, new AirPods, and MacBook Pros. So we can expect that they are going to launch soon.
