Since its dating service does not seem to be as popular as
other similar applications, Facebook
has decided to add some more features to it to make it more useful.
Virtual dating has boomed during the pandemic and the social media giant is trying to benefit
from this. One of the most interesting tools added to its service is ‘audio
dates’. This gives users the opportunity to start a conversation with somebody
that they match with. How does it work? When you try to start a call with
someone, he/she will receive an invitation. You will be able to talk to each
other if he/she accepts.
Another feature allows you to set up two additional places
in Facebook Dating where you want to look for matches. Called, ‘Match
Anywhere’, this option will make it easier for you to meet people who may
be temporarily working or living in different places or frequently travelling
between those.
Moreover, Facebook
is introducing ‘Lucky Pick’. This allows daters to take into consideration compatible
candidates who may be outside their typical preferences. According to a post
uploaded by a communications staffer from the firm, Alexandru Voica, on
Twitter, this follows complaints from users that, “the preferences they set
aren’t always hard and fast”.
