Walmart has collaborated with Adobe to help small merchants

To offer small and midsized businesses e-commerce and logistics capabilities, Walmart has collaborated with Adobe. This is one of their latest moves in their war against Amazon.

Thanks to this collaboration, smaller businesses will be able to use Adobe’s suite of cloud-based subscription service to add products to Walmart’s online marketplace. It will also enable Buy Online Pick-up In Store capabilities. They can leverage the supermarket giant’s fulfilment services to offer 2-day shipping across the US.

According to Peter Sheldon, Senior Director of Strategy for Magento at Adobe, this collaboration will also benefit the tech firm’s customers. They will be able to show store  pickup eligibility and available pick-up times online, offer several pick-up options including curbside and in-store pick-up, provide store associates with advanced mobile tools that will optimise pick path, multi-order pickups, validate item selection and manage substitute, and to reach new clients through Walmart’s marketplace, among others.

This partnership is going to benefit both parties. Adobe already has a healthy customer base in the SMB retail sector and Walmart has stores practically everywhere. It boasts of proximity to 90% of the US population. Thus, offering click and collect options will become easier and with the BOPIS system becoming increasingly popular, this is a huge benefit.
