This new facility could be a valuable addition for users. Instagram has added a feature that will
allow them to schedule upcoming IG Live broadcasts in the app. There is also
the option to tap through to get a reminder notification on the day of the
broadcast.
According to an example posted by the firm itself, broadcasters
can schedule the stream up to 90 days in advance. The live composer will give
them the opportunity to already include a title description and product tags,
if applicable. Over the past month, Instagram has been focussing on the social commerce aspect for quite a bit.
For instance, it has run a series of live-stream shopping events and said that
the “immediacy and interactivity of the format [helps] to improve discovery,
and drive purchase activity in the mobile app”.
Moreover, Instagram has introduced a new Live practice
option. This allows users to check their lighting, get used to the camera and
test other features without actually broadcasting. Additionally, while still
practising, they can connect with their guests in advance and test their
connection. This is a very important part of the broadcasting process, as
anyone who has ever streamed before knows. Instagram
will roll out this mode in the following months.
