Pinterest is introducing new shopping features for advertisers

To make it easier for brands and advertisers to promote their products on its platform, Pinterest is rolling out new features. For quite some time now, the firm has been focusing on e-commerce and the introduction of these tools is its latest initiative to grow online shopping and advertising on the site.

The first one is a new “slideshow for collections” feature. It will automatically extract items from retailers’ catalogues and turn them into a “collections ad”. According to Pinterest, this tool will help advertisers produce video-like content tailored to individual users more easily. The goal is to encourage shoppers to purchase more items at one go. The firm advances that buyers on its platform have 85% bigger baskets than on others and spend twice as much money per month. Since they will be browsing more than one product at a time via the slideshow feature, it is likely that they are going to make more purchases.

Another tool is called “merchant details”. This allows brands to showcase their values and worth on their profile. They can put forward qualities such as “responsibly sourced” and “inclusive”. Moreover, companies can highlight communities, like “Women-owned” and “Black-owned” that they are part of. Keep reading to learn more about Pinterest’s newly-added features.
