Announcing some welcome news, Instagram has revealed that links are now available in Stories for all users. They are no longer restricted to those with 10K followers or verified accounts.
Indeed, when this feature was first introduced, it was only
accessible to certain users. However, the rest of the community had been
complaining that they want to share things with their friends and followers as
well. The social media firm listened and delivered. It advanced, “Whatever
you’re into, from cooking to volunteering or shopping, you now have a space to
share in Stories - regardless of your account size”.
As such, now everyone will be able to access the link
sticker for Stories which the firm
had introduced as the primary sharing option instead of ‘Swipe up’. This will
give users more creative control on how the link appears within their frame,
which is an appropriate way to drive more referral traffic.
How will this change affect e-commerce brands? This
will put a larger focus on Stories as a communication tool. The feature will
become more valuable for exposure because of their increased ability to drive
direct traffic to websites. Instagram
also advanced that it is developing new ways to customise the link sticker “so
that it’s clear what someone will see when they tap your link”.
