Despite developments in the restaurant sector, drive-through technologies have not
really changed for quite some time until now. Keep reading this article to
learn more about this.
McDonald’s will be using AI-enabled platform capabilities so
that consumers can have a look at customised menu items on its digital signage at drive-through
locations. The items that are offered will be based on an individual customer’s
initial food order and on the weather, the time of the day and how busy the
restaurant is at the moment.
Another outlet using artificial intelligence in its
drive-through is Good Times Burgers & Frozen Custard. This was the first
eatery to deploy the AI-enabled voice-activated order taker. This system is
specifically designed to handle conversations that take place in the context of
a drive-through restaurant. It will automatically send menu orders to the
kitchen according to those conversations.
Now, Sonic
is reported to be implementing an infrastructure that will be based on the
latest technology. Guests will be prompted to order from an AI-powered voice
ordering assistant that will integrate a dynamic menu display. This can be
customised either for a specific customer or for external factors such as the
weather, the time of the day, seasonality and location.
