Digital tech accounts for 20 percent of UK jobs openings


The boom in the digital tech sector has led to more people being employed in the UK. The economy is now responsible for one fifth of all job vacancies in the country. This equals to 1.7 million positions. According to a research, while London remains a hub for the digital economy, this industry is spreading to other regions as well. For instance, in Cambridge, half of the working population is part of the digital tech workforce. The report also advances that salaries are on average 10 percent higher than in other industries.
